Building Resilience through Education and Life Skills

Education is a vital tool for empowering communities and breaking the cycle of poverty. At Touch Initiative, we focus on equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Our education and life skills programs target marginalized communities in Sololo, Marsabit County, where access to quality education is limited.

The Challenge of Limited Educational Opportunities

In many parts of Sololo, formal education is either inaccessible or inadequate. Children often face barriers like long distances to schools, lack of learning materials, and cultural practices that hinder enrollment, especially for girls.

Our Approach to Education and Life Skills

To address these issues, Touch Initiative works closely with local communities to implement sustainable, inclusive educational programs. Our initiatives include:

  • Community-Based Learning: Establishing community learning centers that offer tutoring and mentorship for school-aged children.

  • Digital Literacy: Introducing ICT training to prepare youth for modern job markets.

  • Life Skills Training: Fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills for holistic growth.

Success Stories

Our community-based learning centers have witnessed increased school enrollment and improved academic performance. Additionally, our digital literacy programs have given many youths the skills to pursue freelance work online, expanding their income opportunities.
